Hi Sophie,

I am writing as I am interested in a comment of yours that I recently read:-
"where is the ability to reflect/collect/participate and leave a record/trace? what would happen if we applied this possibility to outreach, especially MIAB lastly equity-- how can we use these modes of cocreation to engage those who don't have ownership in our cultural 'authority'."

The reason is because I am working on my dissertation which is exploring the role of co-created moving image project in museusm and gallery outreach.

I know it's a bit broad at the moment but I am wondering if you have some suggestions or good sources of reference?

Sorry to ask an obvious question but what is MIAB?!!

Would really appreciate any suggestions. Mny thanks

Thanks Lynda - I am running to lunch just now.from a glance it looks vv interesting. I am concerned about tokenism and this paper appears to address avoiding that....

G'day, Sophie. Hope it's been a good weekend. I'm afraid I don't know enough about what you do in Science in the City and what you want to achieve, this would help guide developing any pre-visit stimuli. Pauline Fitzgerald would be a good person to confer with. Also, it is better to match the preparation with the actual event rather than have some kind of generic template. What we do know with young people is that they hate filling out sheets; they would rather be given some kind of role, like taking digital photographs of what really turned them on and then using them to discuss the visit when they get back to school. Alternatively, they can develop a set of provocative questions that they would like to follow up the visit with. So much depends on the nature of the planned experience. They could write a rap, or make a sculpture, it could bring science into another key learning area. Good luck with it all. Susan

check out this ning group http://yscfluidteam.ning.com/
we may be able to create something like that with a group of SITC participants as an evaluation tool and experiment?
it's also similar to the things we were talking about yesterday
