just started as assistant curator at Museum Victoria
Hi Megan
Have a look at the Smithsonian's #si20 twitter feed. There are some pretty important people contributing to that. You will get a good sense of who is around from there. Then you can contact them directly.
Good luck!
I am an historian and curator of all things Australian social history. I specialise in the use of new media for interpretation and am excited to be pursuing this as a career. In 2008 I completed my MA at The University of Melbourne on how Web 2.0 is reshaping Australian public history. I worked for consultancy company SHP from 2005 to 2009 and have recently started as assistant curator at Museum Victoria working on the Royal Exhibition Building Western Forecourt Redevelopment project.
All the best to your internship search in the US. Like you were before you graduated (congrats!), I am currently a Masters student at University of Melbourne, reading Arts Management. It would be interesting to look at your research areas in Web 2.0 which is a pet topic of mine too. :)
Hey Megan,
Thanks for the reference for my paper. I ended up using you as a main source on technology and museums. My paper came out great (I think...) and I'm awaiting my final grades. Again, thanks! Your paper was so interesting.
Michaela
