I was just coming on to start a thread saying "don't worry if you can't find comments that you were notified about". Genevieve Wilkins was a spam account, and her comments have been removed - it appears the system doesn't tidy up the notifications,…

I have noticed a lot of people getting confused about not being able to find a comment from Genevieve Wilkins anywhere. It was either spam (& has been removed) or she deleted her profile for some reason. If you are left a comment it should easily be…

Hi Mal,

Lynda suggested I forwarded my query to you, I wonder if you can think of anything that might help me...

I am trying to find a collections managment system that is purely for digital files. I have images, video and audio in a variety of file formats
And I need a management system to organise and retrieve them using keywords or subjects or year spans (it is all historical material)

No need for it to be web-based at all
It is for private use

Any assistance with locating one would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers
Megan

How we display our images online

I don't think we do it that well. Have a read of this blog post about some images I saw yesterday from the TDF.

Ken Hamma from the Getty on the cost of technology

I listened to this "parcast" from OCLC today. I think it is a well spent 20 minutes. It is very recent interview between Günter Waibel and Ken Hamma, the retiring Executive Director for Digital Policy and Initiatives of the J. Paul Getty Trust. It is easy to follow, but touches on how the progress of information technology has impacted on the library, archive and museum world and also what Ken believes is the non-proprietary way forward (using open source technology). He also touches on d… Continue
