Museum 3.0

what will the museum of the future be like?

A further experiment. This year for the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes (AMEP) we are trialling using social media to announce the award finalists in the lead up to the gala dinner on 18th August.

How is this saving money? Well, in the past we would have held a large media event which cost around $10-15,000 not including the costs to administer the event (staff time, printing, postage, setup, email etc etc).

So I'm putting a call (plea) out to you all to follow Eureka prizes on Twitter as we feed tidbits out about what's happening with this program and also join our Facebook group

Neither of those links (Twitter or Facebook) worked for me; I kept being taken to "All About Evil" on FB. Anyway, I figured it out and joined both. :-)

Hi Lynda
I'm intrigued! Sounds like a great initiative!
What's the plan? How and where do you announce the award finalists and how do they know about it? What type of feedback are you anticipating/hoping for?
Looking forward to the event!
