Someone may find this interesting regarding digital learning initiatives. The Chicago Public Library, Digital Youth Network and the MacArthur Foundation have just launched a new media project for teens called YouMedia. Here is a brief description: "YouMedia is an innovative 5,500 square foot "out-of-school" physical and virtual environment that addresses how youth socialize and learn. YouMedia will engage young adults in literature-based media projects that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and skill building." You can learn more about it at www.digitallearning.macfound.org.

I'm looking for examples of in-house online courses and/or orientation for museum workers, especially docents and interpreters. Looking to set-up a self-guided course for docents as an introduction to the content of the museum as well as a place to continue to share and collaborate on exhibit-related research. Does anyone know of examples of such?

Does anyone know of any research done into family or adult learner use of museum websites? Grateful for any suggestions!

Here's a paper that members may find useful Cognitive playfulness, creative capacity and generation 'C' learners.

As mentioned on my page - have a look at ERGO the new online learning resource set-up by SLV.

While not e-learning as such this is a very interesting site (via Bridget McKenzie's Facebook account!) - FindTheWhy - helping 7-14 year olds tackle the big questions.
